September - abroad, fortress and history

Sunday, September 21, 2008, 01:22 PM EST [General]

l decided to scope the last days of the early autumn
and to take an excursion to a Fort in Komárom near to
Budapest, but then l couldn't resist the temptation to
walk over the bridge to the Slovak Republic as it seemed
so comfortable as it really was too actually.
So l can tell you l have been to "abroad" this year too :D
The weather was very nasty, windy and it was rather cold
but l was very determined in my mind to spend my whole
day out and take some new pics about it.
The town in Slovakia was very exciting and full of
spectaculars, the atmosphere of the little part of the downtown
cought me a lot, l just felt so sorry that l can not  relay it as l  want
by my photographs as l am not a professional but l hope
l managed to take some good one too although.
There was something new in every corner to discover
the houses were breathtakingly interesting and very beautiful
in that part of the city, with full of a lot of statue and there
was quite a lot people in the streets in spite of the
drizzly rain which couldn't stop all day long.

After coming "homeland" ( smiles) l visited a feast day
of Fort Monostor which is organized once in a year in
the hungarian part of Komárom with an all day
historical play. You can see here soldiers in exact
period dress from the WW I,II and faithful scenes of
    their battles.
l will probably upload the photos of it shortly
    to my site at:
    http://phabcam.blogspot.com/
You can read about the Fortress Monostor at:

    Intro

    Faceless
    through the remnants
    of nameless trails
    from the cellars of the
    Eternal Sins with
    creepy movements
    have l been fetched
    here by shoulders of
    a couple of broken-
    winged angels. Out.
    Out of the darkness.
    Over there is only the
    endless apprenticeship
    of the stiff-necked
    hopelessness.

    Please, don't send me away...

    Second World War roundabout

Thursday, May 15, 2008, 01:24 PM EST [General]

I had an unexpected surprise this morning
while l was trying to get to the train station
by bus so that l can take some new pics
    for my sites.

While l was sitting on the bus innocently
staring out of the window and trying to think
about some pleasant things, it revealed that
    an enormous (1000 kilograms,
1 ton weight) american Second World War bomb
was found today, near to the Lágymányosi
bridge, which my bus was about to cross,
very close to some important junction
so the all area was closed off within
a 2 kilometer zone ( more than a half mile)
and 4 thousand people were evacuated from
the dangerous area, so we had to take a
longer roundabout with the bus, while l
accepted with some silent resignation that
l probably wouldn't catch my train in time
so l got down to munching my breakfast.

There was a mess on the roads, and there
was a terrific traffic jam, because of the
    divergence of all vehicles.
I could reach the train station only far
later as l had expected it.

On my way back still was the same situation,
the trains had to stop at the nearest station
before they could have crossing that bridge
and a lot of people had to chose another
way to get to the other side of Budapest.
My friend says, there have been found other
World War bombs too recently not too long
time ago, but they were blown up without
problem because they were smaller size.
As l have heard it from the news, this bomb
will be taken away and deactivated somewhere else.

Second World War is still haunting.

A Day for the equal terms in the Community

Sunday, May 11, 2008, 02:48 AM EST [General]

Yesterday was taken place an excellently

organized event, "The Rehabilitation Social Day"

as l have read about it on the web, but it was actually

a day for the equal terms for people with several

difficulties and disabilities in the wider community.

It was a great event, rich in programms,

    and free preventive examinations e.g.

    blood tests, body-weight controll,

audiology, and many many other useful

preventive medical help, there were stands for

the latest modern mobility devices, what's more,

even had a place for the ancient

chineese medical practice which has been

very popular among the other stands

for the free tests. It revealed my sugar

level is too high and l could

get some pieces of advice about

how l should eat properly and l even

managed to get a very refreshing

medical massage too at a stand for

spine gymnastic. l heard a very interesting

lecture about stress, related to e.g.

MS illness, where the stress can be

    especially dangerous.

While this was going on one side

of the sports hall, there were

    brilliant performances on the other

side, by several disabled and able-

bodied single artists or artist groups.

    I especially enjoyed the fantastic

    appearance of the wheelchair dancer

    groups and the awesome production

of the deaf players, not to speak of

that the whole performance of them has

been attended with an interpreter of sign

language, that just lift the standard

of the whole day  more higher.

It was also a great power lifting

    presentation by some disabled sportsmen,

one of them won the bronze medal in the latest

    paralympic games in power lifting.

But some, who didn't have fancy watching

the performances or testing their health

condition, could play indoor ball games

or board games, chess at the tables,

or they just could talk with each other,

so everyone has had a very exhausting

    but lovely and fantastic day.
