    Be my Valentine.....

Thursday, December 6, 2007, 10:48 AM GMT [General]

Anyone fancy writing a short ditty about Valentine's day? Something romantic.....how your eyes met across a misty wheelchair meeting.....

Mobilise magazine are doing a Valentine's page in the Feb issue, so if anyone wants to write a short story about being in love irrelevant of your disability, please drop me a line.

    Martin Conquest - conquered me!

Friday, November 16, 2007, 04:05 PM GMT [General]

Does anyone have a Martin Conquest trike, or perhaps tried one out?

I spent the day with the company this week, including testing their trike. It was brilliant! I'd reccommend them to anyone who used to be a biker but was injured in an accident and is now disabled, or if you are disabled and have always lusted after a motorbike.

The experience was amazing - so much power and so much fun. Everyone turns to watch as you go past! They must give such a sense of independence to any disabled person who wants to get on a bike but doesn't know how - plus the confidence it gives you is massive.

They do loads of test drives at shows - so if you see them I really would suggest trying them out.

If you've got one, or tried one, drop me a line cos I'd love to hear what you think.

    Newbie...

Monday, October 29, 2007, 06:33 PM GMT [General]

    Well, hi everyone...

I've just become Editor of Mobilise magazine, which you may or may not know is written for the Mobilise Organisation, promoting mobility for disabled people. I'm non-disabled myself, so this new role is opening up a whole new world for me. I'm already really passionate about campaigning for disability issues, partly because until now I haven't recognised the issues that are around and now want to help make a difference.

To do the best in my role, and to raise awareness/increase knowledge/provide a service to my readers I want to learn as much about disability issues as possible, and also to get to know more disabled people. So, I might email and message you all, to harrang and ask you to write for the magazine!

I also want to grow my magazine to be relevant to all ages, so please feel free to message me with any ideas for the magazine that you might have.

If you dont know what the Mobilise Organisation is, check out the website www.mobilise.info and perhaps sign up to be a member - it doesn't cost much, and you'll get a fab mag penned by my fair hand to boot....

Anyway, that's just a little intro about what I'm doing on here :)
